Website redesign

When the old site has started costing you calls

A website redesign is worth doing when the current site is losing you work: it is hard to use on a phone, the number is not on the first screen, or it still lists the two services you offered in 2019. It is not worth doing because you are tired of looking at it. A redesign with us costs the same $399 as a new site, up to five pages, and every old address keeps working. You see a free mockup first.

Signs it's time

  • You have to pinch and zoom to read it on your phone
  • Your phone number is somewhere below the fold, or only on the contact page
  • One long page tries to cover every service you sell
  • You've added services or towns since it was built and none of them are on it
  • The photos are stock, or they're yours but eight years old
  • You stopped handing out the address at jobs
  • It doesn't come up when you search your own trade and town

Three or more and a redesign will do more than a tune-up. If the only complaint is that you're bored of it, wait, and spend the money on reviews and your Google Business Profile instead. The website redesign checklist goes through the decision in more detail.

What we keep

01

Every old address

Each page on your old site has an address that Google, your customers and other websites may have saved. All of them get listed before anything is built, then each one is pointed at its new page with a permanent redirect. Nothing turns into a dead end.

02

Your email

If the domain also runs your email, the site moves and the email records stay where they are. This is the part most people worry about and the part that goes wrong most often when it is rushed.

03

Pages that already bring you traffic

If a page already shows up in search for something, its title and the heart of its content stay. Rewriting a page that works is how rankings get lost.

04

Your real photos

Your jobs, your crew, your trucks. Those stay and get sized properly.

What changes

The long services page becomes a page per service. The phone number moves to the top of every screen as a tap-to-call button. The towns you actually work get written into the copy. Stock photos pretending to be your work come off. Titles and descriptions get written for the way people search, and the whole thing is built for a phone first, since that is where Google reads it and where most of your customers do too. If the site needs SEO work after launch, that is the local SEO side of the shop.

A redesign we launched this month

Palmetto Painting Contractors is an owner-operated house painter in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The old site was a small Wix build with a handful of pages and project addresses that said nothing about the job. With ByteZero we rebuilt it as a 33-page site, with nine redirects pointing the old Wix addresses to the new pages, and launched it October 6, 2026. The Palmetto Painting Contractors case study shows the page map.

What a website redesign costs

The same as a new site with us. $399 designs and launches up to five pages, $60 for each page after that, then a monthly plan:

  • Care, $199 a month: hosting, SSL, maintenance, content updates, Google Business Profile kept current. Up to 6 pages.
  • Grow, $499 a month: adds profile optimization, 3 backlinks, 10 tracked keywords, 2 blog posts a month. Up to 12 pages.
  • Lead, $999 a month: adds town pages, 6 backlinks, 20 keywords, 8 posts, social posting, full AI search strategy. Up to 17 pages plus town pages.

Bigger rebuilds, online stores and multi-location sites are quoted as a custom plan. Our small business website design page covers what goes into every build, and the contractor website design page covers the trades.

  • Will a website redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can, when old addresses break or pages that rank get rewritten. That is why every old page is redirected to its new one and the titles and content on pages that already rank are kept.

  • Can you redesign a Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy site?

Yes. Palmetto Painting came from Wix. The content moves over, the site is rebuilt on our own platform and the old addresses are redirected.

  • How much does a website redesign cost?

With us, the same as a new site: $399 for up to five pages, $60 per extra page, then $199, $499 or $999 a month depending on the plan.

  • Do I lose my domain or email in a redesign?

No. The domain stays yours and the email records are left alone. Only the records that point the site itself get changed.

  • Do I pay before I see a design?

No. The mockup of your new homepage is free, and nothing is billed until you approve it.
