Charlotte SEO company

Showing up when someone in Charlotte searches for what you do

Local SEO is the slow, unglamorous work behind the map results: your Google Business Profile, the pages on your site, your listings around the web, your reviews and the sites that link to you. We do that work for contractors and small businesses around Charlotte on two monthly plans. Nobody can promise you a ranking, and we won't. You'll get a monthly report on the keywords we track and what we did.

What local SEO in Charlotte involves

Google says it ranks local results mainly on relevance, distance and prominence (Google Business Profile Help). Relevance is whether you look like you do the job. Distance is how far you are from the person searching, and nobody can change it. Prominence is how well known you are, which Google reads partly from reviews, links and listings. The work below feeds relevance and prominence.

01

Your Google Business Profile

On a search like 'roofer near me', the map usually shows up before any website. We set your primary and secondary categories, list your services by the names customers use, set the service area to the towns you really cover, and keep hours, photos and posts current.

02

The pages on your site

One page per service, with the Charlotte neighborhoods and towns you work in named where they belong. Titles, headings and descriptions written for the searches your customers actually make, which often aren't the ones you'd guess.

03

Citations, meaning your listings

Your name, address, phone and hours on Bing, Apple Maps, Facebook, Yelp and the directories for your trade. When they all match your Google profile, Google can trust the details. When one still has an old number, a customer calls a dead line.

04

Reviews

We reply to them and keep the profile tidy. Earning them is still your job, but we'll show you the quickest way to ask after a finished job. We never buy, write or trade reviews.

05

Links from other sites

A few real links a month: 3 on Grow, 6 on Lead.

Charlotte gets searched one neighborhood at a time

SouthPark, Ballantyne, University City, Steele Creek and NoDa behave like small towns of their own in search. A lot of residential work also sits just outside 485, in Matthews, Huntersville, Pineville and Indian Trail. Naming the places you really serve helps relevance. It won't move you any closer to the person searching, and a page for a part of town you never work in is the kind of doorway page Google's spam policies warn about.

  • Mecklenburg County: SouthPark, Ballantyne, University City, Steele Creek, NoDa, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Huntersville
  • Cabarrus County: Concord, Kannapolis
  • Gaston County: Gastonia, Belmont
  • Union County: Indian Trail

Which plan does the SEO

What we won't promise

A number one spot. A place in the map pack by a certain date. A set number of calls a month. Anyone guaranteeing those in Charlotte is guessing. Plumbing and HVAC are crowded here; fencing and hardscaping are quieter. That changes how long things take.

What you will get: a monthly report on the keywords we track, a list of what we did, and a straight answer when something isn't working.

Charlotte-area businesses we do SEO for

Outdoor Custom Hardscapes (outdoorhardscapesolutions.com) builds patios, retaining walls and outdoor kitchens around Charlotte and Lake Norman. Its site has a page for each service and each town it works, plus cost and permit guides Charlotte homeowners search for. CLT Limo Bus (cltlimobus.com) runs a limo bus and a party bus out of Charlotte, where 'party bus charlotte' gets about 720 searches a month in North Carolina.

Around Lake Norman we also do the SEO for Carolina Custom Stone, Carolina Custom Concrete and Carolina Fencing Solutions. Michael part-owns all three, which you should know before you count them as proof.

Charlotte SEO questions

01

How long does SEO take in Charlotte?

Months, and how many depends mostly on your trade. A Charlotte plumber is up against companies paying $44 to $99 a click for the same search (Google Keyword Planner, September 2026). A fence or hardscape company has fewer searches and fewer serious competitors. We'll tell you which camp you're in on the first call.

02

My shop is in Matthews. Can I show up for searches in Ballantyne?

Possibly, but distance counts against you, and Google measures it from the person searching. A Ballantyne page and a service area that includes it help with relevance. They don't move your shop.

03

Do I need a page for every Charlotte neighborhood?

Only the ones you really work in and want more work from. Lead includes a page for each. A page for a part of town you never go to can fall under what Google's spam policies call doorway pages, and it won't help you.

04

Should a Charlotte contractor start with SEO or Google Ads?

Ads can bring calls this week, but you pay for every click. SEO builds over months and the calls it brings don't cost per click. Running a small ad budget while the SEO catches up is a common setup. We run both; Google Ads is quoted separately from the plans.

05

Do you meet SEO clients in person in Charlotte?

Yes, for the first conversation or when a walk-through helps. Most of the monthly work happens by phone, email and screen share.

By far the best web design experience. I felt like he really had my best interest in mind and captured that in his web design.
