About the client

Palmetto Painting Contractors is an owner-operated painting business based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Greg Bores offers interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet painting, deck paint and stain, and pressure washing for homeowners in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Daniel Island, James Island, West Ashley, North Charleston, Goose Creek and Summerville.

Greg handles the estimate, the work and the follow-up himself. A homeowner choosing a painter is deciding who to let into their home, so the website has to introduce the person as clearly as the services. Palmetto is a service-area business with no published street address, which puts more weight on the phone number and the quote request.

The challenge

Palmetto’s previous website was an older Wix site with a handful of pages: home, about, projects, reviews and contact. Its seven portfolio entries sat on placeholder addresses such as /portfolio-collections/projects/project-title-2, which told neither a visitor nor a search engine what the job was.

There were no service pages, no town pages and no guides or blog. A homeowner looking for cabinet painting in Mount Pleasant or exterior painting on Isle of Palms had no page written for that question. That is the gap good web design in Charleston SC has to close for a trade business: a clear page for each service and each place the business works.

Our solution

SkyBridge Creations and ByteZero rebuilt the site together on Lovable as a 33-page website. The design direction, Rainbow Row, uses Charleston’s painted row houses as its color system, with bold type and a bar of colors under the headline. The copy is written around Greg as an owner-operator, so a visitor knows who gives the estimate, who does the work and who follows up.

Real photography from Greg’s past jobs carries the project pages. The placeholder portfolio entries gave way to seven named projects, and you can browse them in the projects section at palmettopaintingcontractors.com. Where the site uses generated imagery, such as the rendered colorways of the homepage hero house and a few blog illustrations, the page labels it as rendered, so it is never presented as Palmetto’s work. Client reviews are quoted word for word.

Every page has its own title, H1 and meta description, backed by JSON-LD schema, an XML sitemap and canonical URLs on the www address. That is the groundwork local SEO builds on: pages a search engine can read, each matched to a service or a town.

What we delivered

  • A homepage plus about, reviews and contact pages, with client reviews quoted verbatim.
  • Five service pages and a services hub: interior, exterior, cabinet painting, deck paint and stain, and pressure washing.
  • Four area pages and an areas hub, for Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island and Isle of Palms.
  • Seven project pages and a project hub, built on real photography from Greg’s past jobs.
  • Four homeowner guides with a guides hub, and four blog posts with a blog hub.
  • Unique titles, H1s and meta descriptions, JSON-LD schema, an XML sitemap and canonical URLs on www.
  • Nine 301 redirects, so every URL in the old Wix sitemap lands on its new page and old links and bookmarks keep working.
  • A quote form with service, town and start-date fields, and a tap-to-call phone number on every page.
  • Google Analytics 4 with phone_call, email_click and generate_lead events, and a verified Search Console domain property with the sitemap submitted.
  • A DNS move that left Greg’s Google Workspace email records untouched.

The outcome

The new Palmetto Painting Contractors website launched on October 6, 2026. Every page carries the phone number and a route to the quote form, and the old Wix addresses redirect to their new pages.

It is too early to report results. Analytics and Search Console were in place from launch day, so calls, emails and quote requests are measured from the start. We will add traffic, ranking and lead figures to this case study once there is data to report.

For an owner-operated trade business, this is what small business website design should deliver: a page for each service and town, real work shown honestly, and a short path to a call or a quote.
